Reduce wrinkles in just six days? That's what studies from the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) suggest. A skin cream containing nicotinamide -- a derivative of niacin, also known as vitamin B3 -- helped reduce fine lines and retain moisture in subjects with dry skin after six days of treatment. Another niacin derivative, niacinamide, was shown to lighten blemishes, and, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, may also be an effective treatment for acne, rosacea and blistering-type skin diseases. Chances are it won't be long before vitamin B starts showing up in over-the-counter face lotions.
