I have worked with children, teenagers and adults for most of my life, helping them setting goals and guiding them to reach those goals as a personal trainer, aerobics instructor (Certified by AFAA) and swim coach. Being a competitive swimmer myself as a young girl, I experienced firsthand the physical benefits of massage. It wasn’t till just a few years ago that I have discovered the emotional and mental benefits of a good massage as well and wanted to be able to give that experience – mind, body and spirit - to my clients.

I have found a wonderful school, Health Choices Holistic Massage School in Hillsborough, where I have not only learned the different techniques of massage – physical experience - but a whole lot more… it has changed my life.

I believe that finding the right massage therapist is the key in getting the most out of your session. My wellness massage practice focuses on you, the whole person; mind, body and spirit. I listen to you and your needs and my hands listen to what your body is telling them.  I am present with you throughout the session and work with you to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension and increase range of motion in joints. I believe that everyone’s body is unique and beautiful in its own way, there are no judgments made when a client is on my table.

My massage sessions are therapeutic with detailed work wherever the body needs the attention and usually are integrative. The modalities I use depend on what you need during the session. I might combine energy work (CST) with neuromuscular and reflexology techniques, other times Swedish massage with shiatsu.

About 3 years ago I discovered CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and found that it is profoundly powerful to relieve health problems at their source by releasing restrictions around the brain and spinal cord to enhance central nervous system performance and allow the body to self-correct.

CST is a gentle, light-touch method of evaluating and enhancing the craniosacral system, the environment in which the brain and spinal cord function. An imbalance or dysfunction in the craniosacral system can cause sensory, motor or neurological disabilities. These problems may include chronic pain, eye difficulties, scoliosis, motor-coordination impairments and learning disabilities, as well as other physical and psychological problems.

Developed by Dr. John E. Upledger after eight years of clinical research and testing at Michigan State University, CST has proven effective in aiding individuals with a wide range of medical challenges, including migraines, head and neck pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, TMJ syndrome, motor-coordination impairments, autism, central nervous system disorders, colic, learning disabilities, brain and spinal cord injuries, emotional difficulties, stress related problems, neurovascular or immune disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and post-surgical dysfunction.

Therapeutic massage is really about health care and prevention.  It is a wellness alternative, an easy, natural and affordable way to make you feel good and keep you healthy.  It is not a luxury.

I am looking forward to seeing you soon.  For more information please visit me at www.balancedhealthandhealing.com
