Eighteen years of ongoing study and practice in four US states and three foreign countries ( 5 years: Japan, China and Thailand), my practice melds eastern and western traditions and may include Chinese fire cupping and Guasha.  I have had intensive study of traditional Thai massage which is rooted in the Pali and Buddhist tradition of Metta (loving kindness) and structurally oriented towards both Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine in its use of the meridian system of Qi/Prana/energy flow, diet and herbs to address imbalances.  In addition to study and continuous two-year residence in Thailand, I resided in Beijing, China for one year of TCM study at Beijing University for Traditional Chinese Medicine.  There I studied the foundation and theory of TCM which included regular clinic observation of TCM doctors, as well as the practice and instruction of Qi Gong and foundational Tai Chi Chuan.  Prior to living in Asia, I was employed at the Japanese-inspired Ten Thousand Waves in Santa Fe, NM, held a private practice in Portland, Oregon at the National College for Naturopathic and Natural Medicine and worked at the Greenhouse Spa in NYC, when it still existed, in 1999.  Currently, my practice employs a holistic approach that considers lifestyle and postural changes that may be needed, as well as creative visualization for healing and pain management.
